If you run a Umrah company in the US or Canada, you've probably wondered: how do I stack up against the competition online?
We did the work for you. In June 2025, we analyzed 76 Umrah company websites across North America and looked at their SEO authority, organic traffic, backlinks, and website performance. The results were eye-opening.
Here is what we found, and what it means for your business.
For each website, we pulled data from two tools:
All data was collected in June 2025. The 76 companies in this study are based in the United States and Canada.
Let's start with Domain Rating (DR). This is Ahrefs' score for how strong a website's backlink profile is. It goes from 0 to 100. A higher score means more authority and, generally, better rankings on Google.
Here's how the 76 sites break down:
| DR Range | Number of Sites |
|---|---|
| DR 0 | 16 sites (21%) |
| DR 1 to 10 | 49 sites (64%) |
| DR 11 to 20 | 7 sites (9%) |
| DR 21 and above | 4 sites (5%) |
The average DR across all sites is just 4.6. The median is even lower at 1.1.
To put that in perspective: a DR of 30 in most competitive industries would be considered a weak website. In the Umrah niche, it makes you the strongest player in the space.
Why this matters: If you invest in building your website's authority through SEO and link building, you don't need to compete with powerhouses. You're competing with websites that have almost no online presence at all. The bar to rank well on Google in this niche is very low compared to almost any other industry.
This one is hard to believe at first, but the numbers are clear.
The median estimated monthly traffic across all 76 sites is just 10 visitors per month.
That is not a typo. Half of all Umrah company websites in North America get fewer than 10 people visiting from Google each month.
Here's the full breakdown:
| Monthly Traffic | Number of Sites |
|---|---|
| 0 visitors | 22 sites (29%) |
| 1 to 100 visitors | 41 sites (54%) |
| 101 to 500 visitors | 6 sites (8%) |
| 501 to 1,000 visitors | 3 sites (4%) |
| 1,000+ visitors | 4 sites (5%) |
Only 4 out of 76 sites get more than 1,000 monthly visitors from Google. The top site in the entire dataset gets around 7,000 monthly visitors.
Why this matters: Umrah packages are high-value, high-consideration purchases. People absolutely search for them online before buying. The fact that most companies in this space get almost no search traffic means the vast majority of potential customers are not finding these businesses through Google. This is a massive missed opportunity, and it means there is real room to grow for any company that takes SEO seriously.
One of the metrics we tracked was whether a company ranks on Google's first page for their primary city. For example, a company based in Houston would need to show up when someone searches "Umrah packages Houston."
54% of the sites (41 out of 76) do rank on the first page for their local area. That sounds decent, but here's the catch:
Even among the local rankers, traffic is still low. And when you dig deeper, that 434 average is being pulled up by a small number of strong performers. Most local rankers are still getting very little traffic.
Why this matters: Showing up for "Umrah packages [your city]" is a good start, but the search volume for those city-specific terms is simply not that high. If your only SEO goal is to rank for your hometown, you're leaving a lot of traffic on the table. Targeting broader national keywords like "Umrah packages USA" or "Umrah packages from the US" could bring in far more visitors. The companies getting the most traffic are not just relying on local search.
Google measures website performance with a score from 0 to 100. Anything above 90 is considered "Good." Below 50 is "Poor."
The average PageSpeed score across all 76 sites is 57 out of 100. Only 2 sites out of 76 score 90 or above.
But the real story is in a specific metric called Largest Contentful Paint (LCP). This measures how long it takes for the main content of a webpage to load. Google considers anything under 2.5 seconds "Good" and anything over 4 seconds "Poor."
Here's how Umrah company websites perform on LCP:
| LCP Score | Number of Sites |
|---|---|
| Under 2.5 seconds (Good) | 1 site (1%) |
| 2.5 to 4 seconds (Needs Improvement) | 6 sites (8%) |
| Over 4 seconds (Poor) | 68 sites (91%) |
The average LCP across all sites is 14.8 seconds. The worst site in the dataset takes 73.8 seconds to load its main content.
Why this matters: Google uses Core Web Vitals, which includes LCP, as a ranking factor. A slow website can hurt your rankings. More importantly, studies consistently show that slow websites lose visitors. If someone clicks on your site and it takes 15 seconds to load, they are gone before they even see what you offer. The good news here is that this is a fixable problem. In a niche where 91% of sites are slow, being fast gives you a real advantage both with Google and with potential customers.
Backlinks are links from other websites pointing to yours. They are one of the most important factors in how Google decides to rank your site. More quality backlinks generally means better rankings.
Here's the state of backlinks in the Umrah space:
The gap between the average and median tells an important story. A small number of sites have a lot of backlinks, which pulls the average up. Most sites have very few. The top site in the dataset has 6,200 backlinks, but that is the outlier.
About 56% of backlinks are dofollow, which is the type that passes SEO value. That is a healthy ratio.
Why this matters: In a niche where the typical website has fewer than 65 backlinks, you do not need a huge link-building campaign to become competitive. A consistent, focused effort to earn quality backlinks over time could push your site into the top tier of this space relatively quickly. It is one of the more achievable paths to better Google rankings in this industry.
Looking at the five sites with the highest traffic, a clear pattern emerges. Every single one of them:
Here are the top 5 sites by estimated monthly traffic:
| Company | Monthly Traffic | Domain Rating | Ranks Locally? | PageSpeed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sara International | 7,000 | 18 | Yes | 79 |
| Dar El Salam | 5,000 | 30 | Yes | 60 |
| iLink Tours | 1,500 | 13 | Yes | 61 |
| Dawn Travels | 1,400 | 22 | Yes | 56 |
| Hisar Tour | 909 | 22 | Yes | 60 |
One detail worth noting: Sara International gets more traffic than Dar El Salam despite having a lower DR. Dar El Salam has a DR of 30 and only gets 5,000 visitors, while Sara International has a DR of 18 but gets 7,000. This suggests that Sara International has done a better job targeting the right keywords and creating content that people are actually searching for. Raw authority matters, but smart keyword strategy can outperform it.
Here is the summary version for anyone who wants the quick takeaways:
The Umrah market in North America is almost entirely untapped from an SEO perspective. Most websites have low authority, very little traffic, and slow load times. The companies at the top are not doing anything extraordinary. They simply show up, have some backlinks, and have a functioning website. The floor for what it takes to compete is very low.
The opportunity is real. If you run an Umrah company and you are not investing in your online presence, you are leaving customers on the table. People are searching for Umrah packages online. They are just not finding most of the companies in this space.
The three biggest levers for growth based on this data are:
Build your website's authority by earning quality backlinks over time. You do not need hundreds of them to be competitive. A few dozen from relevant, trustworthy sites can make a real difference.
Fix your website speed. If your site takes more than 4 seconds to load, you are losing visitors and potentially ranking lower on Google. This is one of the most impactful technical improvements you can make.
Go beyond local keywords. Ranking for your city is a good foundation, but the companies getting the most traffic are targeting broader search terms. Invest in content and SEO that reaches people across the country who are looking for Umrah packages.
